He sure was ahead of his time!
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell posted an old “selfie” of himself on Facebook Thursday, tweaking Ellen DeGeneres’ now-famous pic from the Oscars.
“I was doing selfies 60 years before you Facebook folks,” Powell wrote under a photo he shot in the mirror of himself, looking solemn and standing in a bedroom. “Eat your heart out, Ellen!”
The Harlem native, 76, was a four-star Army general and served as secretary of state under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2005.
DeGeneres’ Oscar selfie — taken by actor Bradley Cooper, and showing them with a gaggle of Hollywood stars, including Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Roberts — became an international sensation on Twitter.
